We're Back!

Hi there friends!  I just wanted to pop in real quick to say hello and to let you all know that Jason and I made it back to Austin safely late last night.  It was a mostly smooth three and a half hour direct flight from San Francisco.  I always forget about the beauty and comfort of nighttime flights.  I was lucky enough to get a window seat, and although the plane we were on was super tiny, it was actually pretty comfortable because there were only two seats on each side of the center aisle, unlike most flights I've taken where I feel like a sardine among many, squished together with three seats on each side.  It was nice little ride.  I did some reading, some people watching, some ginger ale drinking (I always get ginger ale when I fly for some silly reason) and, as we were descending over Austin from the Northwest, I had the pleasure of seeing downtown in all its glory, lit up and smiling in my direction, welcoming me home.  :)

I know you're dying to hear all about our eight-day vacation to one of the most beautiful parts of the country, and I promise you, I will be blabbering so much about it over the next week that you'll probably want to throw a grenade at me by the time I'm through.  Today, however, is my "recovery" day.  I took an extra day off from work to get settled back at home, that way I'll be well-rested when I return to the old j-o-b tomorrow.  Jason and I are both still stuck on Pacific time, so we were both able to sleep in until after 10 a.m. this morning, which is an absolute miracle for Jason.  Other than that, we've just been grocery shopping, preparing for the upcoming week of normal routine and re-watching Twin Peaks since we were just up in Washington where parts of the show were filmed.

I hope everyone is having a brilliant week so far!  Thanks again to each of my guest bloggers that filled in while I was away, and thanks to you, my readers, for continuing to read in my absence!  I am so happy to be back blogging normally again.  Before I go back to my lazy day of recuperation, I will leave you with a little peek of my vacation:

  2. OMG that picture is beautiful! Looks sooo peaceful. I'd love to live somewhere like that one day. Glad you made it back safe & can't wait to hear about your travels! I have never been on a plane before, but hopefully I can make some trips once my baby girl is at a good age to travel! :)
